Consisting of a complex geographical, linguistic and cultural diversity, Nepal is a small yet opulent cove of unique traditions that have been in practice since ancient times. Among the many forms, the diverse Nepali society holds, perhaps the most fascinating is the mediumistic practices of Shamanism.

Usually called a Dhami in Nepal, a shaman is a lively mediator between the spirit world and our own. A shaman's unique repertoire consists of many rituals, like healings, fortune-telling, consultations with the spirit world, ceremonies for the dead and the newly-born, spells to remove curses or to bring good luck and love among a myriad of others.

Often accompanied by dramatic and startling performances, with colorful costumes, drumming, chanting, and whirling while chanting sacred mantras, shamanistic rituals are as exotic as it gets when it comes to Nepal's indigenous customary practices.

In the context of Nepal, the indigenous system of healing has its roots going back to time immemorial. However, requiring a long and complex apprenticeship, shamanism is not a genteel process as it often deals with darker themes of life and death. As such, the Shamanism Trek in Nepal is a mysterious journey through the hidden layers of Rasuwa's northern foothills.

The 8 Days Shamanism Trek takes you to Syabrubensi and Gatlang among other prominent Tamang settlements of northern Nepal. It also includes an overnights stop at the village of Tatopani where there are natural hot springs believed to have healing properties. The highlight of the trek, however, is the Thuman village where you will get a chance to experience a shamanistic ceremony.

The trekking journey presents travelers with an insight into the shrouded indigenous ways of Nepal's diverse ethnic pockets. In the far-off lands where spirits and people are believed to be walking the same pathways, and where ghosts and divinities inhabit the surrounding hills and forests, as well as objects, shamanism is as integral to the ethnic people as the concept of construing the interrelationships of body, spirit, and society.

Thus, the trek is an opportunity to learn and experience this altruistic part of Nepal's culture. It is a thrilling experience that is unlike anything else.

A deep fresh-water lake in the Himalayan foothills, the holy Shey Phoksundo Lake is a pilgrimage site where Hindu and Buddhist devotees flock during the celebration of festivals like the Janai Poornima. Located in Dolpa within the Shey Phoksundo National Park, the lake holds a unique Himalayan wilderness and hosts a myriad of trans-Himalayan habitats.

The Shey-Phoksundo National Park is one of the very few protected areas in the Nepali Himalayas big enough to secure a viable population of the critically endangered snow leopards. As such, the Shey-Phoksundo Lake Trek presents a remote and little-known off-beaten trekking path to enjoy.

Starting the trek with a short flight to Nepalgunj, the trip takes you meandering through Dolpa's remote ethnic settlements. Dolpa is among the last few places on Earth where authentic Tibetan Buddhist culture is still thriving. Due to the region's remoteness and relative isolation, the cultural ambiance of the place has not changed for centuries. The trek is a perfect way to experience this wonderful culture firsthand.

With regard to the region's alienation from outside destinations, one might say that magic still lives in the hills of Dolpo. The remote country through which you will be trekking through is full of evidence of the ancient animistic religions practiced by the hill people, despite their sometimes nominal adherence to Hinduism and Buddhism. All along the journey in several villages, you can experience the old traditional customs that come in many forms, like crudely carved wooden effigies set before front doors to ward off evil spirits.

Likewise, the region also harbors a very rich and vivid ecosystem. The thriving wildlife presents you with a chance to lose yourself in nature. Vast woods and alpine wetlands embed the terrain, serving several species of animals and birds as their natural habitats. The pathway traverses through the lower Himalayan foothills of the region, under canopies of emerald forests where the peal of birdsongs fill the atmosphere. It is a beautiful trekking journey that presents wonderful natural landscapes, perfect for an off-beaten trip.

The trail follows a wildly turbulent, crystal-blue river through vast forests of conifers. You will be trekking to Inner Dolpo where the sacred lake is situated. The very presence of the lake when seen for the first time, with the lake's intense ultramarine edged with turquoise and deep purple tincture toward dusk, is indescribable in its beauty and other-worldliness. Above the lake stand cliffs of rust-colored rocks streaked with blue. Beyond, the great snow-covered peaks rise out to the sky.

For over a decade, Trek Central Nepal Pvt. Ltd. has been accompanying trekkers and adventurers around the Himalayas. Our packages are created by consulting local travel experts and certified guides. We aim to offer the best travel experience to all our clients.

One of the best monsoon treks in Nepal, the Upper Mustang Trek is a beautiful journey that takes trekkers to the hidden region of Mustang. Also referred to as Nepal's Last Hidden Kingdom, Upper Mustang presents one of the most patently dry terrains in all of Nepal, a drastic contrast to most other famous trekking destinations in the country. Trekking in Upper Mustang is a journey of cultural penchants and untainted traditions that have been in practice for centuries without changing in any drastic way.

A powerful kingdom hundreds of years ago, with its monarch, "The Kingdom of Lo"- as Upper Mustang is also known as was relatively isolated and barred to foreigners for the longest time. Only recently opened for trekking in 1992, Upper Mustang has one of the most well-preserved cultural ambiances in the world, with its Tibetan Buddhist culture still in practice as it was hundreds of years ago due to the region's seclusion.

Upper Mustang is also known as the land of mysticism as it has so much to offer to its visitors in terms of culture that has not been changed due to modernization. Moreover, Mustang's strategic location had also granted the once-independent kingdom control over the ancient trade route between the Himalayas of Nepal and India. This boosted the region's prosperity and made Mustang a beautiful destination filled with a culture that was rich in vibrancy and very opulent.

Flaunting a distinct topography, Upper Mustang presents a dry and arid environment to trek through. Due to the region's location in the rain-shadow zone of the Annapurna and the Dhaulagiri Mountain Ranges, Mustang receives very little rainfall. It makes the Upper Mustang Trek a good option for monsoon trekking.

Vast desert-like terrains filled with loose conglomerates of dunes, Mustang presents trekkers with mesmerizing hues of mountains that seem to change their tincture each day with the movement of the sun, tinting from red and brown to ocher. This is made even more breath-taking when the landscape is a drastic contrast to the towering Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain Ranges that tower over the valleys in shades of glimmering ivory.

Similarly, Mustang is also known for its amazing rock formations caused by the constant wind and sun erosions. Additionally, a collection of more than 50 cave paintings were recently discovered in Mustang in 2007, depicting the life of Lord Buddha, by archeologists.

The Upper Mustang Trek is a perfect amalgamation of cultural, Himalayan, and natural attributes. It is a beautifully distinct trekking experience very different from what the rest of Nepal offers. Presenting its trekkers with many Tibetan Buddhist traditions that manifest in monasteries, Gumbas, chortens, and Stupas scattered throughout the journey, the trek is a brilliant way to experience the Tibetan Buddhist culture in its purest form.

You can enjoy colorful Thanka paintings and many beautiful statues of Gods and Deities and take in an atmosphere elevated with incense-laden monastery halls with prayer wheels embedded in the walls. The Tibetan Buddhist culture and the land's myths and legends are intertwined; the trip presents trekkers with cultural threads weaved into the tapestry of the landscape itself.

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a heavenly trekking journey that takes you to the isolated and less-trodden region of Manaslu- home of the majestic Manaslu Peak, the eighth highest Himalayan peak in the world. It is a thrilling trip that takes you through the coulee of the Manang-Gandaki River and through pristine valleys to present the ethnic presence of the Tibetan Buddhist and Hindu cultures. The trip is filled with monasteries, Gumbas, traditional costumes, prayer flags, and prayer wheels among many more cultural facets. It is an experience filled with beguiling natural beauty and a rich cultural environment all serrated by the towering Manaslu Peak. Moreover, the Manaslu region is also under the protection of the Manaslu Conservation Area, which is home to a wide array of endangered species of animals and birds.

The Manaslu Circuit Trek starts with a drive to Soti Khola; the valley of Kathmandu gets left behind to instead be replaced with circumambulating ridgelines and terrace farms running alongside the Prithivi Highway. Further on, the trekking trail then takes you through many ethnic villages and settlements that each present breath-taking views of the Manaslu Range. Home to two major ethnic groups- the Nubri and the Tsum people, the valley presents trekkers with a chance to enjoy the cultural ethos of the Gurung, Bhutia, and the Sherpa populace.

Likewise, Mount Manaslu is another highlighted attribute of the trip; getting its name from the Sanskrit word "Manasa" that means "the Mountain of Spirit", Manaslu Peak's nomenclature is an alliteration of the word soul in the Sanskrit language. Located about 64 kilometers east of the Annapurna peaks, the Manaslu Himal serrates the Budi Gandaki River valley. The terrain is thus also embedded with long ridges of the peak and abundant glaciers that originate from Manaslu. Much of the valley's glacial lakes and rivers culminate in or from the Manaslu Peak.

Additionally, since trekking in the region has only been recently opened in 1991, the region is visited by fewer trekkers compared to other destinations of Nepal. As such, the Manaslu Circuit Trek is a perfect option for trekkers looking for fewer crowds. For those who seek the less-beaten paths, this is one of the best choices. The trail follows the ancient salt-trading route along the Budi Gandaki River, where along the way, you will be presented with awe-inspiring views of Mount Manaslu, the Sringi Himal Range, and the Ganesh Himal Range, as well as occasional monasteries and Stupas decorated with prayer flags. Mani stone walls carved with Buddhist mantras also decorate the pathways.

Similarly, at each step of the way, you will be presented with the best available services at all times, from transportation and meals to accommodation and guidance. The Manaslu Circuit Trek is crafted keeping the satisfaction and comfort of our customers in mind. We guarantee an unforgettable trip filled with amazing features that is sure to stick to your mind for years.

Pikey Peak is located at an altitude of 4,065m, from where you can see the breathtaking views of the surroundings as well as the mighty Mount Everest. Before arriving at the 5,365-meter Everest Base Camp, the walk will pass by a number of other breathtaking vistas. The last endpoint of the Classic Everest Base Camp with Pikey Peak Trek, Kalapathar 5545 meters above sea level, will be the highest point of the trek.

The trek is best suited for the adventure seekers who want to explore the unexplored and enjoy the unspoiled nature to the very core. The best opportunity to observe village life in a remote area of Nepal is through this hike. With the help of our knowledgeable guides and porters, you can also experience the best of Nepal, which will undoubtedly make your journey even more enjoyable.

Before beginning the Classic Everest Base Camp journey with Pikey Peak, hikers must be in excellent physical condition because the altitude will be above 5000 meters. The journey to Dhap village from the magnificent metropolis of Kathmandu begins the trek. After that, it gently climbs to Japre before continuing on to Pikey Base Camp. The walk continues to Loding, a lovely town in the Solukhumbu area, after climbing the Pikey Summit. We arrive in Namche Bazaar, a well-liked location also referred to as the escape from Everest, after passing through numerous stopping locations along the way. We go through numerous stunning monasteries, including Dingboche and Tengboche, before arriving at Lobuche, the final stop before arriving at the Everest Base Camp. We take a flying return to Kathmandu after carefully descending to Lukla from Kala Patthar through Namche.
